Children at Trinity
Our Philosophy of Children in Worship
At Trinity Reformed Church, we see children as a vital part of the Kingdom of God. We want worship to be accessible and participatory for all kids.
The worship of God is a service that is for Christians of all ages to participate in.
We foster an environment where it is ideal for children to stay in service. We want them to learn the rhythms of church just like their parents.
During the service, we have a time where all the kids are invited to come forward for a children’s message. We review the Heidelberg Catechism Q&A for the week, read a Bible lesson, and recite the Lord’s Prayer.
Have a Question?
What are you teaching children?
We want teaching to kids to be a supplement of what YOU are doing at home. Currently, we use the Heidelberg Catechism for kids, which incorporates question and answer, memorization, singing, and most importantly, conversations about God and His world. You can find the Heidelberg and resources for your own family training here. Each week in the liturgy handout we include a family worship guide that can be used for working with your children throughout the week.
